From co-ed dorms to co-ed rooms: gender neutral housing
(There is no link to this story)
Rutgers will begin offering gender neutral housing, in which students of the opposite sex may room together, starting this fall. While not everyone is embracing the idea, Temple psychologist Frank Farley thinks it is the right way to go. "One of the biggest problems we have in relationships in this society is men and women getting along, people of different sexual orientations getting along. This is a wonderful opportunity for people to learn about each other and learn how to communicate." Farley said universities such as Ohio State and Michigan have offered gender neutral housing for years, so "there's a track record here."
