Because of the university's international programs in Tokyo, Rome, Beijing and London, Metro touted Temple as "one of the best bargains around" for Pennsylvania students who want to study abroad. Participating in one of Temple's programs "not only makes financial sense," said Denise Connerty of Temple's Office of International Affairs, "but it's the easiest in terms of logistics." The combination of convenience and cost means that Temple students can go overseas for longer periods of time. "We send more students for a full semester than is true nationally," said Connerty, who was also quoted in a story about trends in study abroad in Metro's "My Education Guide" section. A third story mentioned Temple's scholarships for study abroad.
