President Englert offers support to those affected by student's death
To the Temple University Community:
As you may have already heard, the Temple family suffered a tragic loss yesterday. We were all deeply saddened to learn of the sudden death of a Temple student who took her life in the Liacouras Parking Garage. Out of respect for the student's family, we are not releasing her identity.
This is a terrible tragedy for all involved and most especially for the immediate family and loved ones of the deceased. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the student's family members, friends and all those affected by this tragedy. While we can never adequately explain why these things happen, we can support each other through the loss.
More specifically, I want to let anyone who has been personally touched by this incident know that the Temple community is here for you to offer support in this time of grief. Professionals at Tuttleman Counseling Services on the fifth floor of 1810 Liacouras Walk are available to provide assistance. Their phone number is (215) 204-7276. I encourage you to seek them out as needed today or after the holiday.
As we observe the holiday over the next few days, I hope you also will take a moment to be grateful for your family and friends, including those here at Temple.
Sincerely yours,
Richard M. Englert
Acting President
