Education professors named Routledge authors of the month

Routledge Education has named Temple professors Joan Poliner Shapiro and Steven Jay Gross as authors of month for January 2013, recognizing their work on the second edition of Ethical Educational Leadership in Turbulent Times, slated to be published next month.

Ethical Educational Leadership in Turbulent Times is an engaging, case-study based text written to assist leaders in ethical decision-making processes during a time of turbulence and uncertainty. The book is framed by Gross’s Turbulence Theory and Shapiro and Stefkovich’s Multiple Ethical Paradigms of justice, critique, care and the profession.

Shapiro is a professor of educational leadership in Temple’s College of Education, president of Temple's Faculty Senate and co-director of the New DEEL (Democratic Ethical Educational Leadership) Community Network.

Gross is a professor of educational leadership and founding director of the New DEEL Community Network in the College of Education.
