Temple University’s Department of Public Safety rebuilt a greenhouse for students of George Washington Carver High School of Engineering and Science and participated in a spring cleanup for Earth Day.

A new ride-along initiative at Temple University’s Department of Public Safety connects students interested in law enforcement with those who protect and serve the Temple community.

“Properly placing a U-lock on a bicycle or scooter reduces the likelihood of theft while also making the bike less attractive to opportunistic thieves,” said Vice President for Public Safety Jennifer Griffin.

Fallen Temple University police sergeant will be honored at a plaque dedication on Sunday, the one-year anniversary of his death.

“It just goes to show the connection and the commitment we have to the community, that we’re not just here to serve Temple,” said Vice President for Public Safety Jennifer Griffin.

Temple police officers hosted their 26th annual holiday party with gift giveaways, interactive games, face painting and more at the Liacouras Center.

The Temple University Department of Public Safety is working to bring the community together with police officers to discuss issues and find solutions. 

Temple’s Department of Public Safety staff includes more than a dozen veterans. Now, they’re sharing lessons they’ve learned from their service to students from Paul L. Dunbar School.
