Temple T flying on Broad Street from City Hall to Venango Street
Bright, new cherry and white flags bearing the Temple "T" are now flying along a four mile stretch of Broad Street, from City Hall to Venango Street, through October 31. The 4’ x 8’ flags are just one way we’re showing our pride as we welcome back alumni for Homecoming 2013 and celebrate the investiture of Neil D. Theobald as the university's 10th president. Look for the Cira Center, next to 30th Street Station, to light up cherry this weekend, and join in the festivities at events across campus and at the Linc for the Temple vs. Army football game on Saturday. The 148 flags signify both Temple’s long history as an anchor on Broad Street, one of the city’s busiest corridors, and the contributions the university has made and continues to make to Philadelphia and beyond.
This week’s #TemplePhotoOfTheWeek features Joseph F. Hill, an employee at Port Richmond’s Metropolitan Flag and Banner, the company responsible for making the flags. Check out a photo gallery of the flags under construction.
