Undergraduate public health program receives national recognition
The Department of Public Health recently been chosen as a "Best Practice" in undergraduate public health education by the Health People 2020 Curriculum Committee, the American Association of Colleges and Universities and the Association of Prevention Teaching and Research.
In addition, Sarah Bass, associate professor, Temple University College of Health Professions and Social Work was asked to sit on an "expert panel" by the Association of Schools of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to put forward guidelines for undergraduate public health programs nationally. Bass will also be discussing Temple's program as an example of how undergraduate public health education can prepare the workforce at the National Health Promotion Summit sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services in April.
