Need help talking to your teenager? Temple psychologist Laurence Steinberg has advice in his recently revised book, You and Your Adolescent: The Essential Guide for Ages 10-25. Adolescence "starts earlier than it ever did before, because the age that kids are starting puberty has been getting earlier," he said. "It lasts so much longer because our children stay dependent on us for a longer period of time. When kids are economically dependent on us it rekindles a lot of the issues that we thought went away after they finish early adolescence."
