Oil prices could rise as unrest spreads in North Africa, Middle East
Oil prices spiked this week as protesters in Libya battle supporters of Moammar Gadhafi. Analysts say jitters over similar uprisings in North Africa and the Middle East have added a fear "premium" of about $10 per barrel of oil. "People are wondering how far this will go — because if it expands even further to other Middle East countries, then there could be a serious disruption in supply," said Fred Murphy, an energy expert at Temple's Fox School of Business.
