Temple made two appearance in David Patrick Stearns' list of the year's top 10 classical music highlights. Stearns celebrated the renovation and reopening of the Temple Performing Arts Center (TPAC, formerly the Baptist Temple) a venerable, 120-year-old structure that "turned out to be exactly the kind of mid-sized hall that Philadelphia needs." The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia is now repeating its Center City programs there, and TPAC's rental rates are accommodating to those who are outpriced by the Kimmel Center. Stearns also acknowledged the contributions of bass-baritone Eric Owens, an artist-in-residence at Temple whose performances at New York's Metropolitan Opera earned him glowing reviews in the New Yorker and a proclamation from Stearns that 2010 was "his year."
