TUJ students make their way home
Kyle Cleveland, associate professor of sociology at Temple University, Japan Campus, safely escorted a group of TUJ campus students on a flight to Chinese territory and saw them onto planes headed home to the United States. Now, he's turning around to fly back to Tokyo. "Only in the last day or so have they seemed to get it [nuclear threat] under control," said Cleveland. "Fingers crossed, it looks like it might be settling down." Temple was among several colleges that elected to evacuate American students as the nuclear crisis worsened. The evacuation was not mandatory, though the U.S. State Department strongly urged citizens to consider leaving the country.
