The state Supreme Court is investigating a local law firm for acting as a foreclosure mill. The firm's attorneys may have signed off on thousands of foreclosures — in some cases wrongly — without reviewing documentation. "In the worst-case scenario," said Forrest Huffman of the Fox School of Business. "[The owners] may not have title to the property, they may have to move, the property may have to be reattached to the original mortgage agreement so a new default can be declared and a new foreclosure proceeding can proceed."
