Larry Brandolph named vice president for information technology
With decades in leadership positions in corporate and educational environments, Larry Brandolph has been appointed vice president for information technology after occupying the role in an interim capacity since September 2021.
Larry Brandolph has been appointed the new vice president for information technology, Temple University Provost Gregory Mandel announced on Thursday, March 16. Subject to final approval by the Board of Trustees, Brandolph will begin this new role on April 1 after serving in an interim capacity since September 2021.
“I am excited about Larry’s promotion to vice president for information technology,” said Provost Gregory N. Mandel. “For more than a decade, Larry has been an extraordinary leader at Temple, shaping the technology infrastructure to provide consistent support for students, faculty and staff and ensuring the security of our digital information resources. Larry has prioritized access, inclusivity and innovation, and I know he will serve the Temple community well now and in the future.”
As a key member of the provost’s senior leadership team, Brandolph will continue overseeing information technology across the university, which entails managing the cybersecurity of campus resources and implementing a clear vision that aligns with Temple’s strategic priorities of boundless access, educational value, thought leadership, community engagement and reputational excellence.
“I am honored and very excited for the opportunity to serve the Temple community as the vice president for information technology,” said Brandolph. “I look forward to continuing to collaborate with our students, faculty and staff to advance our technology, transform digital initiatives and align our institutional goals across the university.”
With decades in leadership positions in corporate and educational environments, Brandolph started working at Temple in 2011 as associate vice president and chief information security officer. Prior to this position, he served as vice president and head of infrastructure services at Cigna Inc.
Brandolph is well-known and respected across Temple for his collaborative and professional approach to work. From strategic planning to organizational and financial management to implementing technology, he leverages his collective experience in commercial healthcare and higher education to advance technologies and solve problems. Dedicated to his team and to the Temple community, Brandolph is a strong advocate for team-building and professional development, kindness and accessibility in customer service, and cultivating partnerships across campus.
He earned a bachelor of humanities and business from Pennsylvania State University and a master of business administration, technology management from the University of Phoenix.
