The U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools 2018 rankings may be brand new, but the message remains the same: Temple University is home to some of the nation’s fastest-rising academic programs.
Highlights for Temple in the latest annual edition of Best Graduate Schools, released Tuesday, include ascents for the College of Engineering (up 10 spots to an all-time high); and the College of Education’s graduate programs (up to No. 48). Four individual programs at the Beasley School of Law were ranked in the top 15.
The College of Engineering’s overall rank jumped 10 spots since the 2017 edition to No. 123 in the nation—its highest rank ever achieved.
Graduate programs at Temple’s College of Education vaulted seven spots since the 2017 edition of Best Graduate Schools to No. 48 in the nation, tying the record for the college’s largest single-year increase. Education’s graduate programs have climbed 15 spots in only three years.
The Beasley School of Law earned a No. 53 ranking in the 2018 edition of Best Graduate Schools, eight spots higher than its rank three years ago. Four perennial top-15 programs at Temple Law continued their streak: trial advocacy (ranked No. 2), part-time law (No. 6), international law (No. 12) and legal writing (No. 13).
Several other individual Temple programs earned ranks in the top 100 nationally in the 2018 edition of U.S. News Best Graduate Schools: at the College of Liberal Arts, clinical psychology (No. 25), sociology (No. 57), English (No. 60), psychology (No. 60), political science (No. 65) and history (No. 69); at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, research (No. 55) and primary care (No. 84); and at the College of Engineering, bioengineering and biomedical engineering (No. 73) and computer engineering (No. 77).
U.S. News did not publish new Best Graduate Schools rankings in the 2018 edition for some programs that are traditionally areas of strength for Temple, including the fine arts, public health and the sciences.
