On Tuesday, representatives from more than 50 Temple student organizations joined Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and fellow students in the Temple Performing Arts Center for an event designed to promote suicide awareness and non violence. “Peace in the City” was organized by Jaimee Swift, a senior communications major and president of the campus women’s group, Her Campus Temple.

Veteran film editor and Temple alumnus William Goldenberg won an Academy Award for "Best Film Editing" from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at the 85th annual Academy Awards ceremony Sunday at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. Goldenberg was also nominated for "Zero Dark Thirty." The two films were his third and fourth Academy Award nominations.

Temple University Television (TUTV) has launched a new Spanish-language news update to supplement the School of Media and Communication's weekly student newscast, “Temple Update.” “Update Ahora” and its English-language counterpart, "Update Now," air on TUTV six times a day from Monday through Thursday.
