On March 25, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter visited Temple Rome’s campus, located in the historic Villa Caproni.

Corbett and Nutter toured the campus, spoke with students informally and attended a private reception with administrators and faculty.

Following the gathering, they spoke to a large crowd of Temple students and faculty about how important it is for the students to be ambassadors for the U.S., Pennsylvania and Temple. Corbett and Nutter then answered questions from Temple Rome students about issues including education cuts, fracking and the success of Jay-Z’s Made in America event in Philadelphia.

Mayor Nutter noted that this was his second meeting with Temple Rome students in the past five months. While on a trade mission in the UK in November, he met with a group of Temple Rome international-business students during a series of corporate visits.
