Fernandez sets new record in 1,500-meter run

On Saturday, April 11, Temple graduate student Blanca Fernandez set a new record in the 1,500 meter run, placing first of all collegiate runners at the George Mason Invitational.

Graduate student Blanca Fernandez set a new record in the 1,500-meter run Saturday, April 11, at the George Mason Invitational in Fairfax, VA.

In her first major win of the 2015 outdoor season, Fernandez was the top collegiate finisher of the race, with a winning time of 4:21.61. The only participant making it to the finish line before her was a professional runner competing in the event.
