Cyclists ready for Temple-hosted Collegiate Criterium race

On Sunday, Temple will host the Temple Collegiate Criterium, the third of three races being held throughout Philadelphia this weekend as part of the Philly Phlyer USAC cycling event. Cyclists from Temple and other colleges and universities will race on a .9-mile loop on the streets surrounding Main Campus, starting and ending at the Bell Tower.

Temple cycling advocate shares stories from cross-country journey

In December, Temple Grounds Superintendent Glenn Eck biked across the country on a 2,754-mile journey from San Diego, Calif., to Jacksonville Beach, Fla. Eck is a passionate advocate of Bike Temple, the university-wide program to promote bicycle use by Temple students, faculty and staff. Eck will discuss his cross-country trip during a presentation Wednesday from noon-1 p.m. in the Mitten Hall Wellness Resource Center classroom.

Bike commuters pedal to top in national mileage competition

As part of the National Bike Challenge, members of the Temple community have spent their summer logging the number of miles they have biked. Temple is currently ranked 13th in the nation and has logged more miles than Drexel and Penn bikers combined.

Philly Phlyer to race through Temple

Temple will host more than 400 cyclists on Sunday for the Temple Collegiate Criterium. The criterium is part of the PhillyPhyler, a two-day collegiate and USAC cycling event hosted by the Temple, University of Pennsylvania and Drexel cycling clubs. The event includes three races at various sites throughout Philadelphia.
