National Coming Out Week events get underway

Today marks the beginning of National Coming Out Week (NCOW), a five-day civil-awareness event celebrating people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT). Events include a launch party, a panel discussion on gender roles and stereotypes in the LGBT community, a drag show, the annual NCOW fest and a conference on LGBT members’ personal coming out experiences.

Students celebrate Coming Out Day with outdoor festival

Hundreds of students and other members of the Temple community celebrated National Coming Out Day Tuesday at a festival featuring music, performances, speakers and information tables. The event was part of a week of events held in support of members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community who publicly identify their sexual orientation or gender identity.
