Bove tapped to lead national cardiology society

Alfred Bove knows sometimes you have to give up one passion to pursue another. He stepped down as section chief of cardiology at Temple University Hospital last September, not to relax or reflect on 18 collective years at the helm, but to take on a new role. In March, Bove will be sworn in as president of the American College of Cardiology for a one-year term.

Injuries may tip off doctors to abuse

Women who suffer abuse at the hands of a loved one may not be so quick to talk about it. However, their facial injuries speak volumes. Newly released research in the January/February issue of Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery, one of the JAMA/Archives journals, shows women who are victims of intimate partner violence tend to have different patterns of facial injury than women who experience facial trauma from other causes.

Campus thoroughfare renamed in honor of Polett

Polett Walk runs from Broad Street to 11th Street

Berks Mall, which runs from Temple’s Main Campus gates on Broad Street to 11th Street, has been renamed Polett Walk. Temple’s Board of Trustees changed the name of the path in honor of current board member and former chair Daniel H. Polett and his wife, Margo.
