Intensive English Language Program includes creative electives and real-world experiences

Temple University’s Intensive English Language Program (IELP) brings together students and professionals from all over the world to study English. Unlike other programs of its kind, in addition to classes in reading, writing, listening and speaking, IELP also offers students creative electives, such as “Learning English through Movies,” and opportunities to get involved with the surrounding Philadelphia community.

New Rosen Hillel Center formally opens doors

The new, $8-million Edward H. Rosen Hillel Center for Jewish Life — operated by Hillel of Greater Philadelphia — officially opened its doors at a ceremonial dedication on Wednesday evening, Nov. 11, heralding what the Jewish Exponent has called a Jewish "renaissance" at the university.

Forty-four flags hang from the ceiling of the Howard Gittis Student Center in recognition of the 1,524 international students currently enrolled at Temple. An initiative of Temple Student Government, Student Activities and the Office of International Services, the flags illustrate the university’s global diversity.
