Student dining options abound with opening of new restaurants at Temple

With the introduction of the Morgan Hall dining complex, as well as a new Cosi restaurant scheduled to open today in Pearson-McGonigle Hall, the number and variety of Main Campus dining options has expanded dramatically. Diners can now choose from a wide variety of selections — from organic farm-to-table dishes or global Asian cuisine to authentic South Philly cheesesteaks, as well as traditional favorites available in the Louis Esposito Dining Commons and Student Center food court.

STEM programs are focus of summer camp programs for youth

The programs covered everything from using computers and math to manage logistics, to math and engineering for girls, to building autonomous robots, to creating apps that address community challenges, to meeting a former astronaut who has walked in space.

Start of semester brings changes to increase parking efficiency

New orientation gives international students a jumpstart on campus life

Students from across the globe arrived on campus on Aug. 10 to become acclimated to Temple University and Philadelphia before the fall semester began. To help them adjust to their new life here, as well as introduce them to faculty, students, resources and services, the university’s Office of International Affairs held its first international student orientation.

Students to develop new events for Spring 2014

Over the next few months, Temple University will be working with student leaders and student organizations to develop new campus-wide events and programs for the spring. The event known as Spring Fling, which began decades ago when the university was almost exclusively a commuter school and was originally conceived to provide an opportunity to unite the student body in a day of celebration, will no longer be held.

A new exhibit at Temple’s Paley Library, Curated Stacks, allows patrons to display their research sources and methods in a creative and nontraditional format. The exhibit is curated and installed by library users who have foraged materials found in the Libraries’ collections for a research article, course assignment or multimedia project.

Reducing student debt is focus of PCN-TV panel featuring Temple's President Theobald

President Neil D. Theobald will be one of four panelists for the roundtable discussion "Financing Higher Education and Student Loan Debt," to be broadcast tonight at 7 on PCN-TV. Helping students manage their debt has been an early hallmark of President Theobald's administration. He has encouraged students to borrow only as much money as they need, to educate themselves on the different types of debt and to limit the work they do outside of class so they can keep on track to a four-year graduation.
