Derek Avery is an expert in workplace discrimination and diversity, including how gender, race and ethnicity affect employee recruitment, retention, engagement, performance and absenteeism, among other issues.
A prolific author, Avery has published many book chapters and cases, as well as more than 30 articles in major journals, such as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior and Journal of Business and Psychology. He is also a member of numerous professional boards, including the Hospitality Industry Diversity Institute's Executive Board.
