On Feb. 19, Cape May Mayor Edward J. Mahaney Jr. and the City Council will publicly present the final design for a new convention center, which is nearly three times the size of the old hall. Demolition of the existing convention center is scheduled to begin in May. Students at Temple University's School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, under the direction of associate dean Elizabeth H. Barber, are helping Cape May develop a business and management plan for the center.
