Temple University Health System and Fox Chase Cancer Center signed an affiliation agreement Thursday that solves Fox Chase's space problems and adds a nationally recognized cancer institute-designated cancer center to the Temple system. Larry Kaiser, CEO and president of TUHS, senior executive vice president for the health sciences and dean of Temple's School of Medicine, said Temple will devote resources to new cancer research and recruiting scientists for the organization's cancer program. Fox Chase plans to establish a cancer program at Jeanes Hospital. Kaiser said the partnership will "open new doors in battling cancer."
