Professor Tucker Tayor participates in panel on job growth

In April, Tucker Taylor, assistant professor in the Department of Economics at Temple, served on a panel discussion titled, “Jobs, Jobs, Jobs: What Creates Job Growth?” The discussion was the second “Breaking Through the Sound Bites” public forum, a six-part series of free nonpartisan events intended to increase community awareness of critical issues leading up to this year’s national elections. At each discussion, panelists present issues, case studies and solutions, followed by a moderated discussion and audience participation. At the discussion held at the Unitarian Universalist Church at Washington Crossing in Titusville, N.J.,, experts examined why there has been no net job gain in the U.S. over the past decade, why the availability of lower-wage jobs has increased as higher-wage jobs have decreased and the common threads behind these trends.
