Although the fast-and-furious days of eight years ago are gone, the real estate market seems to be slowly recovering. Temple economist William Dunkelberg said the Delaware Valley real estate market didn't suffer as much as other regions. "We didn't have the overbuilding, compared to the South," he said. As for the cure for real estate and the ailing economy in general, Dunkelberg put it this way: "The best stimulus is you put money back in the pockets of the consumers."

With snow banks as a reminder of recent storms and another snowfall predicted, negative emotions, like snowflakes, can pile up. "Some [people] might worry that they'll lose their job," said Temple psychologist Frank Farley. "What if a business has to shut down, or reduce their hours? That frustration can often lead to aggression. People become furious." And shut-ins can feel confined, even imprisoned, like they won't be able to get out, or people won't be able to reach them if they need help, said Farley.
