Many first-time readers find Faulkner’s The Sound and the Fury maddeningly hard to follow. Some passages traditionally appear in italics, to give readers a handle on the back-and-forth through time. Today, Temple has a residential population of about 12,000 students on campus and in surrounding neighborhoods. The university is building a 26-story residential tower to accommodate the demand for housing, Betzner said.

Temple said it would set up a task force to review the Freeh report in detail and identify potential implications and recommendations. Temple board chairman Patrick O'Connor said he was confident that "if there were a matter that should be brought to the board, it would be. I've never been disappointed."
